Maritime NZ is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to deliver Seafarer Welfare services at the Port of Tauranga which contribute to New Zealand meeting its obligations under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
Following a national procurement process, no funding for services was granted to organisations who applied for the Port of Tauranga. We are therefore undertaking a new grant procurement process for service provision at Tauranga.
Any organisation that can ensure that international seafarers working on board a ship have access to shore-based facilities and services (noted in the specified activities below) to secure their health and well-being at the Port of Tauranga can apply for the grant. All applicants must be able to meet the application criteria to have their application considered.
All details for all criteria can be found on our website.
