Stoat Trap Servicing - Murchison Mountains

The Department of Conservation is seeking proposals from suppliers to conduct stoat trap servicing at Murchison Mountains.

Stoat predation is a significant threat to the survival of takahē and other endangered species in this region. Predator control in the Murchison Mountains currently consists of an intensive stoat trapping network of approximately 3450 individual stoat trap boxes (with DOC 150 traps). It is the largest contiguously trapped area in New Zealand covering ~50,000ha, ranging in altitude from 200m at Lake Te Anau to 1400m in the alpine zone.
