Supply and Distribution of Official Wellington City Council Rubbish Bags

Wellington City Council (WCC) is seeking a suitably qualified supplier to supply and distribute Official Council rubbish bags to Council-approved retailers across Wellington.

Official Council rubbish bags form part of Wellington’s kerbside rubbish collection system and provide an essential disposal option for residents, particularly where wheelie bins are not suitable. Bags are sold through a network of retail outlets, predominantly supermarkets, and selected Council facilities. The current arrangement includes freight and delivery to retail outlets with stock held and distributed by the supplier.

The standard product is a 50-litre yellow WCC-branded rubbish bags, designed to meet Council Specifications for durability and performance. These bags support safe and efficient kerbside collection and must be compatible with existing collection operations and handling requirements.
