Tauranga City Council (Council) is seeking proposals from experienced office furniture suppliers to supply and install the furniture for the fit-out of the new Council administration building at 90 Devonport Rd. (the Building).
Council has worked hard to develop the brief and design narrative with Warren and Mahony.
The interior design of the building has been developed around 5 guiding principles that the project aims to create and foster, these being to Celebrate Vibrancy, be a Wellspring of Wellbeing, Create Lightbulb Moments,Taura Here and to be the Steadfast heart of the CBD.
TCC’s new workplace will be a place to connect with each other and nourish the people that work within it, the water, land and the Community. With exposed timber, architectural forms and the use of materiality to create interest and ‘flourishes’, Warren and Mahony have developed a design that responds to these 5 guiding principles, that will create a space that compliments the buildings presence in the CBD, and fosters connection, celebrates the people of Tauranga, and provide spaces that support the staff to do their best work.
The Building is targeting 6 star Greenstar, and the fit-out a gold WELL rating. The nature of the structure of the building lends itself to create a strong connection with nature and the sustainability goals of the building will create an efficient, safe, robust, and inspiring place to work.
