TC121/24 Virtual Reality Flood Education Module

Tauranga City Council invites proposals for this contract for which the works/services comprise:

Our Emergency Management team recently commissioned a successful earthquake and tsunami virtual reality (VR) module to educate our community about the impacts of a large magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami.
Armed with our Pico Neo 3 VR headsets, we took the experience ‘on the road’, giving people young and old the opportunity to experience what an earthquake and tsunami might look like in real life. We received such positive feedback on this approach that we wondered… what else could we use this technology for? There are more natural hazards than just earthquakes and tsunamis!
So, we’re now looking for a supplier to work with us to create a similar educational VR experience specifically about the effects of flooding and how people can prepare, respond to, and recover from flooding events.
Our budget for this procurement is fixed at $110,000; we want to find a supplier who will work with us to have a VR flood module up and running by the end of this calendar year.
