Lyttelton Port Company is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced wharf construction partners for the Te Awaparahi Bay Port Expansion and Resilience Project, an $821 million investment to expand and strengthen the South Island’s key international trade gateway. The project will deliver a 388-metre deepwater wharf, future berth capacity and a 5-hectare container terminal, supported by new ship-to-shore cranes and semi-automated gantry yard crane operations. The works are intended to provide long-term capacity, operational resilience and supply chain reliability for exporters, importers and the wider regional economy.
