Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Otepoti – Classroom Blocks & Whare – Design and Build Services
Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ōtepoti is the only full-immersion Māori kura in the Otago region, located in Fairfield, Dunedin, providing education from Year 1 to Year 14 entirely through te reo Māori. Established in 1994, the kura operates as a Te Aho Matua special character school, embedding Māori language, culture, values, and worldviews across all aspects of teaching and learning. It offers a whānau-centred, holistic educational environment that prioritises student wellbeing, cultural identity, and leadership development, and plays a critical role in sustaining Māori-medium education pathways and te reo Māori revitalisation in Ōtepoti and wider Otago.
The kura requires additional teaching spaces due to an increasing student roll. The requirement of this procurement is detailed in the tender documentation but in summary is for the design and construction of:
• A three-teaching space music classroom block
• A two-teaching space classroom block for woodwork and soft materials
• A whare
