This project includes a new roof structure and reroofing, as well as the demolition and refurbishment/rebuild of the interior layout. The building is a tertiary education facility. The 2,682m2 building is owned by Te Wananga o Aotearoa and currently consists of 5 classrooms, a compliant space to sleep 80 people, a dedicated area for art programmes, a student computer lab, a large common area, a combined kitchen dining area, and the remainder is office space, ablutions, and storage.
The new works includes a new interior layout maintaining a compliant space to sleep 80 people, a new commercial kitchen and cafe area, classrooms, library, student computer lab, offices, storage, replacement of the roof structure and reroofing, and upgrades to the electrical, mechanical systems and fire services. There are also two small extensions to the existing envelope.
