Wellington Water Limited

Three Waters Reactive Renewal & After-Hours Support contract

This 3 plus 2-year contract is aimed to support the delivery of the Reactive and Planned Renewals Works program for the Customer Operations Group (COG) of Wellington Water Limited (WWL). It also has a requirement to provide after hours support to the operational COG teams.

Wellington Water Limited is Council Owned Business tasked with delivery of three waters activities for its owners, being Wellington City Council (WCC), Porirua City Council (PCC), Hutt City Council (HCC), Upper Hutt City Council (UHCC), Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) and South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC)

The COG is an Alliance between Wellington Water and Fulton Hogan Limited (FH). Under the alliance agreement all contracts and contractors are procured via the FH contract pathway and become sub-contractors to FH.

The Reactive Renewal Program (the program) generally consists of between $16 and $20 million of reactive and planned renewal works per annum. The assets the program of works applies to consists of 3 waters network reticulation, pumping stations and reservoirs (including mechanical and electrical works) located across the 6 client Councils. The reactive renewals component of the works tends to be where an asset fails reasonably unexpectedly and requires renewing more rapidly than the more traditional organisational program of works allows. As such, WWL see’s benefit in having a strong partnership with a panel of contractors that are able to mobilise quickly and respond to the asset failure. It is also aimed at providing continuity of service response to customers and improve the ease of responding to and issuing works for the COG team. The planned work component tends to be focused on pump station and reservoir renewal works. This program is well planned out and will require the successful tenderer to have the ability to mobilise mechanical and electrical expertise in support of the more civil elements of the works.

An industry briefing will be held at the WWL Porirua Depot on Thursday 22nd September at 1600 and all perspective tenderers are encouraged to attend.
