Tui Oil Field Decommissioning Project – Recovery of mid-water arch systems

The Tui field is a subsea oil development that lies approximately 50km off the western coast of Taranaki, New Zealand. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is the lead agency for the decommissioning of the Tui field (the Tui Project).

The Tui Project consists of three separate phases:
1. Phase 1: Demobilisation of the FPSO Umuroa (completed May 2021)
2. Phase 2: Removal of the Subsea Infrastructure (concluded July 2022)
3. Phase 3: Plugging and abandonment of the Wells
Recovery of four Mid-Water Arches, along with their Gravity Bases and tethering chains, was planned to occur during Phase 2, but was removed from that campaign and is now a separate scope of work.

MBIE is now seeking a Contractor to plan and execute the removal of the MWAs and GBs (mid-water arch systems).
