Tararua District Council

Universal Water Metering - Tararua District (RFI)

The Tararua District Council (TDC) is at the market research and investigation stage for its Universal Water Metering programme. We are seeking to understand market offerings, capability and capacity to support the provision for smart water metering solutions. TDC currently owns, manages and operates six water supply schemes, supplying water to over 5,000 residential properties across Dannevirke, Pahiatua, Woodville, Eketahuna, Norsewood and Akito.

The introduction of universal water metering is expected to improve water supply and demand management, as well detect and reduce water loss through leakage.

We are seeking market research and information about reliable, accurate systems that are future proofed and can integrate seamlessly into our existing systems. These need to be well supported in New Zealand. We are interested in -

a) Smart metering technology solutions.
b) Smart network providers.
c) Software and platform solutions to manage water meter data to integrate into billing and asset management systems.

Please contact Hayden Mischefski for any procurement questions for clarification. Please note - we are not accepting formal tenders or pricing at this stage.
