University of Waikato - EOI for Tauranga Student Accommodation Facility

Currently there are approximately 1500 students enrolled at the Tauranga campus. It is estimated that by 2028 the student body will number 2000 students. It is estimated that in 2028 approximately 10(%) of the student body will be international students, growing to 15% of students in 2029.

To meet the accommodation needs of Tauranga students, the University has assessed that it initially requires a 100-130 bed facilities. It is envisaged that further beds will be required as the student body continues to grow.

The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EOI) process is to invite interested parties to register their interest in providing purpose built student accommodation

This project entails the leased supply of an approximately 150 bed purpose-built or purpose-fit student accommodation facility in Tauranga city.

The accommodation should primarily be designed to cater for individual students, but consideration would also be given to rooms that could cater for couples and/or University staff.

It is envisaged that the University would supply all administrative, housekeeping, and residential pastoral-care staffing requirements.
