Waihi Beach WWTP Upgrade - SBR Equipment Supply & Install Works

This procurement relates to evaluating and identifying a suitable candidate for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) equipment to be incorporated within the Waihī Beach WWTP upgrade.

The proprietary SBR equipment is critical in the biological treatment process and contaminant load reduction of the plant, and thus its ability to meet consent discharge requirements. This significant kit of equipment has specifications that require specialist design inputs that are best provided by the suppliers to suit their proprietary designs and equipment. The identification and nomination of equipment upfront allows the supplier solution to be adopted within the overall plant design.

The equipment will be installed downstream of the primary treatment (screening process), in the SBR pond where the biological process occurs. This proprietary equipment, including an aeration system and mixers will ensure sufficient air is supplied and maintained in the SBR pond during the different phases of treatment. Once this process is complete, the treated wastewater is discharged via a decanter system into wetlands where it is held before tertiary treatment.
