Waikato District Council Landfill Disposal Rate Contract

Waikato District Council are seeking a Class 1 landfill disposal facility with a competitive landfill disposal rate to be utilised for the disposal of Waikato District’s municipal (residential) waste, collected under council’s residential waste services contracts.
The key objectives of this procurement are:
• To identify and select a cost-effective Class 1 landfill for Council’s waste volumes, including cost of getting the waste to the site.
• Secure certainty for landfill disposal, including confirmed location, sufficient current and future capacity, and predictable costs.
• Ensure high waste disposal availability throughout the year, including public holidays where possible, to meet the operational needs of our kerbside collection contractor.
• Ensure Council’s waste is disposed of at a landfill with a proven environmental performance, including effective gas capture and leachate management, to minimize climate and environmental impacts.
