Department of Corrections

Waikeria Low Security Precinct Implementation and Consolidation Project – Construction Services

Waikeria Prison is the most aged within the Corrections network, with facilities and infrastructure at or near end of life distributed across a large physical area.

The Department is planning to consolidate activities to the northern end of the site. This will result in the decommissioning of some existing buildings and functions and the construction of new buildings at the northern end with the view of establishing an operationally integrated facility that consists of the new facility being delivered through a PPP agreement and the adjacent low security units, where the new infrastructure part of this FPO is being built.

Key infrastructure to be delivered as part of the Low Security Precinct (LSP) Implementation and Consolidation Project (LSP Project) are:
- An entry building of approx 400m2
- A logistics store of approx 650m2
- A multifunction building of approx 400m2
- Perimeter fencing

This is a future procurement opportunity for suppliers who must have the ability to deliver the required services to our site at Waikeria in the Waikato region.
