Waitematā Climate Activator

Are you passionate about enabling community climate action to reduce emissions and supporting community organisations in the Waitematā Local Board area to understand and build resilience to the impacts of climate change?

In the 2026/2027 financial year, Waitematā Local Board has allocated $40,000 for a Climate Action Activator work programme with a focus on building capability of community organisations to take local climate action and supporting residential uptake of electrification.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of local climate issues and experience in engaging community members in sustainability related actions.

Applicants will have established relationships within the Waitematā local board area and central Auckland communities and demonstrated ability to work collectively with a wide range of community groups. They will have the ability to manage multiple projects, co-develop an annual work plan that incorporates community groups and projects across the Waitematā Local Board area, and support reporting to the local board.


Suppliers intending to participate in this procurement must notify Auckland Council of their interest via GETS by September 9 2026.
